room to explore: stunning gardens and grounds

room to explore: stunning gardens and scenery

Imagine a conference and meeting venue with stunning gardens for you to work in; or stroll around during lunch-time and breaks.

Our gardens have been planned to merge with the meadows that surround it. The flower beds, with shale paths, are planted with wild flowers, grasses and lilies; sheep graze on the 26 acres of meadow land. The bird and insect life appreciate the absence of pesticides. Red Kites and the valley’s resident Buzzards regularly fly overhead.

The tree circle and woodland area has secreted seating amongst the mature trees and bamboo forest for those wanting to reflect and relax in peaceful surroundings. The woodland has been replanted with indigenous Welsh wildflowers and plants that attract insects, birds and butterflies.

Next to the Retreat – available as a break-out room to conference users – a wild-life pond is establishing itself. The wildlife pond and newly created bog-garden are home to a wide variety of dragon flies, newts, frogs and toads.

Castell Farm is currently in conversion to total organic status. We currently grow all our own vegetables and fruits. Where possible, these are used in the delicious dishes we supply to our guests
